As sexual assault can affect anyone and i could change not only the life of an individual but also their love ones, support systems can help with coping up and healing. After the abuse, survivors may be at a loss at what to do next.

The good thing is that there are already available resources that survivors and their love ones can reach out to. Here is some of it:

• National Sexual Assault Hotline

The national hotline is operated by RAINN (Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network). Once you call the hotline, 800.656.HOPE you will be routed to local resource groups around your area.

• National Online Resource Center on Violence Against Women:

VAWnet is initiated by National Resource Center on Domestic Violence. It provides thousands of materials on violence against women and related issues.

• U.S. Department of Justice

Visiting the US DOJ website provided information about public state, territorial, and tribal sex offender registries. It also provides guide on how to file a case against your perpetrators.

• The National Center for Victims of Crime

They are committed in helping the victims, family and of crime including sexual assault. They aim to ensure that survivors will be able to pick themselves up and rebuild their lives.

• National Street Harassment Hotline

This is also operated by RAINN, the National Street Harassment Hotline is focused on gender based street harassment. It is available in both English and Spanish, 855.897.5910.

Aside from these, there are also a number of other resources that can be found on RAINN’s website which you can check here (https://www.rainn.org/national-resources-sexual-assault-survivors-and-theirloved-ones). Should a survivor decide to report the abuse, it is also best to consult a sexual assault lawyer for legal advice and steps that can be taken. If you ever need one, we have sexual assault attorneys in NYC that will listen to your story here at Morgan Legal Group P.C.
